Purple Thumb Partners is a new intelligent way to manage any home.
You are busy. Houses have become quite complicated and the cost of any improvement or repair is astronomical. There are so many considerations in deciding what to do and the best way to do it. There are new materials, energy considerations and seemingly small differences in products that can effect the logevity of the installation. On top of this, contractors are like cowboys. Some are good guys with good intentions who will have your best interest. Some are villains who will take advantage of any opportunity to cut corners in ways that may not be obvious. Why are there such wide differences in estimates? Some contractors are well established do a consistantly good job and pay themselves like professionals. Others may be just as good but up and coming so charge less to break into the market. Some use illegal labor and don't carry insurance but are very cheap. How do you tell the difference? You can research each indivual, visit past work, talk to references and ask for insurance certificates. Even with that kind of diligence if the job is not specified for materials and methods, a good job may not be the right job. The example of the Boston Back Bay brownstone is a case where some very good interior finish carpenters resided a three storey bay. The pieces fit perfectly. The problem was they know nothing about flashing and how materials weather. So while the original work lasted one hundred years the new work lasted five.
I specified the job for red cedar, exterior (sign painters') plywood, flashing at every horizontal joint and west system (boat builders') epoxy on all the mitred sills. The labor was the same, the staging costs were the same the materials were about twenty percent greater. The job should last one hundred years with basid maintenance of paint every five years or so.
This is the kind of difference Purple Thumb Partners will make. We understand the long and short term benefits of different approaches. The least expensive painter may be fine for the kid's room. You may want a museum quality paint job in the formal dining room. We will help you parse these differences so that you are getting the best job at the best price using the appropriate materials and labor for your situation.
I hope you will will let us demonstrate how experience combined with information technology can save you time and money.
